Isoxys is a typical and distinctive arthropod from the Chengjiang fauna, which has some bizarre and extremely well preserved fossils. If there is a good separation, the soft stone can usually be prepared relatively well. However, it takes a lot of effort to preserve the tiny details.
This specimen lies unbroken in the middle of a sturdy plate. A big advantage for the preparation, since only a few hidden areas had to be prepared. The exceptionally well-preserved details could be safely exposed under the microscope.
